I think it’s appropriate to blog about a product that was created to help reduce plastic waste, since today is Earth Day.  In 2008, Kristen Quigley, Cristina Bourelly, and Jennifer Stoller Barat started 3greenmoms.com to help kids and families grow a little greener.  According to the site, an average person uses 120 plastic baggies, 60 water bottles and 60 plastic forks or spoons in a span of 3 month.  That’s roughly $31 for 3 months of plastic.  To help reduce the number of  plastic lunch bags waste, 3 green moms created LunchSkins.

LunchSkins

These reusable, colorful cloth pouches are made from a high quality, moisture-proof German fabric used worldwide in the food industry. These bags are food safe, extremely durable, grease-proof and can even be thrown in the dishwasher.  Their design is so innovative and unique that they even have a patent pending! They come in a set of two, and are perfect for lunch or snack pairings of fruit, sandwiches or chips. At $12 for a set of 2 you’re not only saving the planet one plastic baggie at a time, but you’re saving money too!  Plus, no more ghetto plastic bag washing.  These babies can be thrown in the dishwasher where the washing is supposed to happen.  A facelift for the old reusable lunch bag, why couldn’t I think of that? What other products require a green facelift?  Click here to buy your set of LunchSkins to add to your go green goodies.  Happy Earth Day!!!
