The Bella band

A few weeks ago I attended a friend’s baby shower and got to thinking about all the different things expectant mothers have to buy during the course of their pregnancy.  On top of all the baby essentials like diapers, clothes, and electric outlet covers, mothers-to-be still have to worry about adding maternity clothes to their wardrobe.  Maternity clothes almost seem like a waste of money, especially since the lifetime of maternity clothes can only reach up to six months at max.  There had to be a way to extend pre-pregnancy pants into maternity.  Apparently Ingrid Carney came across the same dilemma during her pregnancy and created the Bella Band as the solution.

Ingrid started Bella Band in 2004 earning $90,000 in revenue.  Her revenue grew 700% the next year and has grown more than 70% each year since, hitting the million dollar milestone in 2008.   The idea came to life with the help of a little tube top.
